Wei Zhongxian, Please Don't Die Yet

When the young man opens his eyes, he finds himself in an unfamiliar place. A eunuch kneeling beside him addresses him as "Your Majesty" and gives his name as Wang Chengen. Dazed and terrified, the protagonist realizes he is no longer in his own world—he has somehow been transported into the body of the Ming Dynasty emperor. Stepping outside, he sees the very architecture he recognizes from images of the Forbidden City. It takes him a long moment to accept the impossible truth: he has traveled back in time. Upon asking the date, he learns it is the first day of the eleventh month of the seventh year of the Tianqi reign. Relief and urgency wash over him—there is still time. He murmurs to himself, "Wei Zhongxian, you must not die yet."
