The Junjou Romantica series follows the interconnected stories of three couples. Misaki Takahashi, a college student struggling to pass his entrance exams, is in need of a tutor and finds himself paired with Akihiko Usami, a famous boys' love novelist. Despite initial reservations due to Usami's use of his brother's name in his novels, Misaki develops feelings for the older man after they grow closer. As their relationship progresses, they face challenges, including the introduction of Misaki's brother's fiancée, leading to a bumpy yet romantic journey filled with comedy. The series also explores the stories of two other couples: Kamijou Hiroki, a man consumed by unrequited love for Usami, who finds himself swept up by the charming and energetic Kusama Nowaki; and Professor Miyagi Yoh, who is still reeling from a past love, and Takatsuki Shinobu, a straightforward high school student who challenges Miyagi's emotions, setting the wheel of destiny in motion once again.
