Nana, originally part of a band called Black Stones, is forced to leave the band after its lead singer, Tomoda Aki, is invited to join the popular Japanese band Trapnest. With a newfound sense of determination, Nana decides to pursue her own singing career in Tokyo, leaving behind her personal life and relationships. Two years later, she finally makes the move to Tokyo, only to find herself in a city filled with aspiring artists and musicians. Meanwhile, in a small town far from the city, another Nana, Komatsu Nana, is growing up in a sheltered environment, often described as naive and childlike. After high school, Nana is left heartbroken when her best friend, Haruki, and her boyfriend, Jin, leave for Tokyo. It is on a train to Tokyo that Nana meets the city's darker and more mature Nana, and the two women, despite their vastly different personalities, form an unbreakable bond, establishing a deep and lasting friendship.
