Patalliro Saiyuki!

Genjou Sanzou, a Buddhist monk, embarks on a journey to retrieve the sacred Buddhist scriptures at the behest of the Emperor. Along the way, he encounters an Earth Deity who informs him that Buddha has sent a disciple to aid him: the mischievous Monkey Deity Son Goku. Goku was previously sealed within a mountain for 500 years as punishment for causing chaos in Heaven. Sanzou is joined by a cast of colorful characters, including Cho Hakkai, a charming playboy with a penchant for alcohol, and Sagojyou, a skilled General from the heavenly army. Together, they travel with Ryuuba, the Dragon Crown Prince, who serves as their loyal steed. As they navigate their perilous quest, the group faces numerous challenges, from battling fearsome monsters to participating in lighthearted bishounen contests, ensuring a thrilling adventure filled with action, humor, and camaraderie.
