The Memory of the Dead Zamd

On the small island of Shimponto, surrounded by a sea of oil mud, lives a normal student named Takahashi Akihiko. His life takes an unexpected turn when he becomes one of the few humans to host a "leech-like" parasite after a bus explosion, awakening as the entity known as "Shinigami Zamd" in the world. To save Zamd from losing its identity as it rampages, Nikamia, a red-haired member of the Tetchik tribe, brings Akihiko to her floating residence, the Zambani, where they live and work alongside various crew members to teach Akihiko how to coexist with Zamd.
