Ushio Aotsuki thinks his father's tale of an ancient ancestor impaling a demon on a temple altar stone with the legendary spear of the Beast is nonsense, but when he finds a monster in his own basement, Ushio is forced to take another look at the family legend! Luckily, Ushio knows it's best to leave the sleeping dogs lying and the captured demons where they are. Unfortunately, the monster's release of evil energy begins to attract other demons to Ushio's hometown! To save his friends and family from the invading spirits, Ushio is forced to free Toru from his captivity. But will the cure be worse than the curse? Will Ushio commit suicide by eating Tora? Or will the Monstrous Spear keep Tora at bay long enough to save the city?
