淄川蒲松齡，字留仙，號柳泉。辛卯歲貢。以文章風節著一時。弱冠應童子試，受知於施愚山先生，文名藉甚。乃決然舍去，一肆力於古文，悲憤感慨，自成一家言。性樸厚，篤交遊，重名義。與同邑李希梅、張歷友諸名士結為詩社，以風雅道義相切劘。新城王漁洋先生素奇其才，謂非尋常流輩所及也。家所藏著述頗富，而聊齋志異一書，尤膾炙人口云。
