The Blazing Era: Pioneering the Great Northern Wilderness, Farming and Foraging to Feed My Family

Zhang Chongxing was a passionate outdoorsman and wilderness survival enthusiast—until a climbing accident, caused by a carelessly fastened safety rope, sent him tumbling straight into the rural Northeast China of 1968. Having had enough of the endless grind in his old life, he has no lofty ambitions this time around. All he wants is to marry a good woman to walk through life beside him, raise a few children, and settle down with his family to live out this extraordinary era in peace. No grand dreams—just a household that is safe, sound, and content. Of course, if life could get a little better... and then a little better still, who would ever say no to that? A slice-of-life tale of rural Northeast China in a bygone era—period fiction, farming, mountain foraging, a husband who dotes on his wife, children to raise, and all the everyday joys and squabbles of family life. Not for everyone—enter only if this suits your taste!
