The Unpublished Folklore Files

Greetings. I am Bo Shanfu. The various pieces collected in this volume were originally assembled with the intention of publishing a folkloric short-story collection—each entry rooted in regional folklore that has circulated in recent years. Yet as my investigations grew deeper, my editorial department, Bodian, fell completely silent without warning. I am currently searching for them. After you finish this book, I ask that you contact me with any relevant information. A word of caution: all chapters have been adapted. If anyone bearing a name identical to one found within these pages reaches out to you, contact the authorities immediately. Then, go to a place where most people who know you would expect you to be—and wait. What arrives next, whether rescue or the unknown, remains to be seen.
