From Elector to Downfall: Overthrowing the Papacy

In the dark of the Black Death, when plague ravages medieval Europe, the Church hoards gold, drowns in decadence, and peddles delusion to the masses. Sin rules every soul—until a professional soldier awakens inside the body of Ernst, eldest son of Frederick III. His mother is a princess of the Holy Roman Empire of the Margarete line; his uncle is John the Steadfast, a pillar of the coming Reformation. Rising from his own coffin, he startles a cardinal with his return from death—and is promptly branded a heretic, headed for the Inquisition's tribunal. With his fate sealed by Rome, Ernst has no choice but to join hands with Martin Luther, forging a new German Protestantism that will end the Thirty Years' War before it even begins. He builds a true German Empire, crushes the Papacy's dominion over Europe, eclipses Napoleon's fading glory, and becomes the idol of Bismarck—a name eternally sung in Vienna's halls.
