Date First, Love Later

Jaerim Lee, a film studies major, finds his reputation under siege as campus gossip spreads claims that he is attracted to men. With the rumors showing no sign of dying down, he is desperate for a convincing way to put the speculation to rest before it spirals any further. Gaeun Cha, a screenwriting student, is burdened with a troublesome problem of her own: a dorky senior keeps pressing unwanted romantic advances on her, and his persistent attentions have become impossible to shake off. When their paths cross, the two strike a mutually beneficial deal — a contractual relationship in which they pose as a couple, allowing Jaerim to dispel the rumors surrounding him while giving Gaeun a shield against her overeager suitor. Yet what begins as a purely practical arrangement slowly starts to blur into something more. As the pair spends time together and gets to know each other beneath the surface, Gaeun finds herself increasingly drawn to a side of Jaerim she never anticipated — and little by little, she begins to fall for his charm.
