Ouchou Haru no Yoi no Romance

Set against the elegant yet treacherous backdrop of the Heian period, this manga adaptation of a beloved novel—brought to life by the artist of *Fujimi Orchestra*—unfolds at Saga’s Nyorin temple. There, young Senjumaru serves as a chigo, his ethereal beauty drawing relentless unwanted attention from the temple’s arrogant and lecherous monks. Trapped in a gilded cage of ritual and abuse, Senju endures daily indignities until his mentor, the temple’s head patriarch, takes pity on him. In a daring act of mercy, the patriarch orchestrates Senju’s escape, pressing a formal letter of release into his hand and setting him loose upon a perilous road to freedom. But Senju’s flight is short-lived; his pursuers are swift and ruthless. Just as capture seems inevitable, the noble government official Fujiwara Moroe intervenes, dispatching the monks with quiet authority. Deeply moved by this unexpected salvation, Senju pledges his lifelong service to Moroe as recompense for his kindness. Yet as days pass under Moroe’s protection, gratitude begins to blossom into something far more tender and uncertain. In an era defined by rigid social hierarchies and unspoken desires, both young men find themselves caught between duty and the fragile hope of revealing their true hearts. Can Senju and Moroe navigate the silent barriers of their world, or will their budding affection remain forever locked in the shadows of what cannot be spoken?
