New God of North America

In the year 1785 of the Sacred Calendar, the newly independent Federated States of America passed two landmark acts that sent shockwaves across the Old World, both aimed at opening the vast, untamed wilderness of the western frontier. The Homestead Act promised land to any who would come—purchase it outright or cultivate it continuously for five years, and that expanse of western territory would be theirs forever. The Self-Governance Act offered more than just soil: it gave settlers the chance to build their own communities, attract enough residents to form new counties and states, and then elect their own leaders and draft their own laws. From every corner of Europe and beyond, the rush began. Speculators and schemers, fugitives and fortune-seekers, heretics and devout believers, faded aristocrats and rising industrialists—along with countless ordinary dreamers—all poured across the Atlantic, each carrying their own ambitions and hoping to carve out a new life and a different future. In the west, beyond the gaze of established civilization, they found a land ruled by steam, gunpowder, and six-shooters, where cowboys, outlaws, and bounty hunters roamed alongside immigrants and natives, where churches clashed with the so-called "fallen," and where survival demanded a return to the rawest laws of nature. And among them, the extraordinary—those touched by powers beyond the mundane—were no exception to this savage rebirth.
