Magika no Kenshi to Shoukan Maou

Fifteen years ago, humanity discovered magic—and with it, a race of mythical beings dwelling in another dimension. These creatures, drawn from the legends of countless cultures, possessed dangerous powers that humankind soon learned to summon and wield for its own purposes. Seven nations ultimately forged contracts with these entities, known as "Diva," securing their allegiance in the process. The Diva select their summoners on the latter's fourteenth birthday, marking them with a stigma. To train these gifted individuals—along with the magical swordsmen who serve as their protectors, buying them the time needed to cast their spells—specialized academies were established. Now, fifteen years after magic first entered the world, Hayashizaki Kazuki has been chosen as a summoner and bears the stigma to prove it. The revelation sends shockwaves through society, for summoners are almost exclusively female; men, whose mana reserves are far lower, are never chosen. As the first male summoner in history, Kazuki finds himself under intense scrutiny from nearly everyone around him. Complicating matters further, his own sister—a trained magical swordsman—vehemently opposes his enrollment in summoner school. Summoners and magical swordsmen share a bitter rivalry, with summoners regarding the latter as inferiors, and she is prepared to stop her brother by any means necessary, even if it means going to war with him. Yet Kazuki refuses to back down. Though he enters the academy ranked E—the lowest tier—and his fellow students are eager to demean him, he resolves to give everything he has and prove himself as the strongest summoner of all.
