An Incurable Case of Love

Five years ago, a chance encounter irrevocably altered the course of Nanase Sakura’s life. Spellbound by the sight of a young, strikingly capable physician who performed a daring, impromptu rescue to save a complete stranger, she found her calling in that single, electrifying moment. That fleeting image of heroism became the bedrock of her aspirations, fueling her through the grueling years of nursing school with the unwavering belief that she was pursuing a life alongside a man of unparalleled compassion and grace. Now a qualified nurse, Sakura’s world comes full circle when she is assigned to the very hospital where her idol practices. Yet, the long-awaited reunion with Dr. Kairi Tendo delivers a jarring shock that dismantles her carefully constructed fantasy. The man who once embodied her ideal of a perfect healer is, in reality, brusque, cynical, and infuriatingly indifferent, bearing none of the warmth or nobility she had projected onto his memory. His sharp tongue and rigid professionalism are a bitter pill to swallow, leaving her to grapple with the sinking feeling that her career path was built upon a beautiful, but ultimately false, illusion. As they are forced into proximity within the hectic wards, Sakura must navigate the dissonance between the legend she created and the infuriatingly human man before her. Their professional relationship becomes a minefield of clashing expectations, yet amidst the chaos of emergency care, she begins to catch fleeting glimpses beneath his frosty veneer. Forced to confront her shattered ideals, she must find a new way to work alongside the very person who inspired her, even as she struggles to understand the complexities of the doctor who has so thoroughly turned her world upside down.
