Mei is an ordinary office worker with a simple, grounded vision for her future: she wants to maintain a steady job, find a husband, and build a conventionally happy life. Her carefully planned routine is abruptly upended when her brother, who manages their family’s traditional Japanese sweets shop, falls ill. With no one else available to step in, he asks Mei to take over the business as its new president, forcing her to abandon her predictable lifestyle and dive into an unfamiliar world of corporate responsibility. As if the sudden career change were not overwhelming enough, a cascade of unexpected troubles quickly begins to complicate her daily life. The most significant challenge arrives in the form of a new secretary whose distinctly sadistic personality turns the workplace into a constant source of stress. What was supposed to be a temporary favor for her family rapidly evolves into a chaotic struggle for survival at the company. This romantic comedy follows Mei as she navigates the relentless demands of running the family business while dealing with the teasing provocations of her unpredictable subordinate, discovering that her path to happiness will be anything but normal.
