Jii-san Baa-san Wakagaeru

Shouzou and Ine have spent a lifetime side by side. Now in their eighties, the devoted husband and wife have long since left their working years behind, settling into the quiet, familiar rhythms of old age. Their bodies have slowed, their hair has turned white, and the world sees them only as a pair of gentle pensioners. Then, one ordinary night, something impossible happens. Without warning or explanation, the elderly couple awaken to discover that they have been restored to their twenty-year-old selves. Faces once lined with age are smooth again; bodies once frail are full of vigor. The transformation defies all reason, and neither Shouzou nor Ine has any idea why—or how—it occurred. What follows is a curious new chapter in a marriage that has already spanned decades. Though their reflections show the youth they once had, their hearts and memories remain those of two people who have grown old together. Navigating daily life with young bodies and the wisdom of a long life, the couple must make sense of the mysterious miracle that has upended their twilight years, rediscovering what it means to live—and love—again.
