Summary
The time is 2034 in the Gregorian calendar, two years after the 2nd GIG "Refugee Incident". The newly restructured Public Security Section 9, with an additional 20 people, was once again tasked with investigating the serial suicides of terrorists with Sanskrit tattoos as their symbol and the airport hostage-taking incident. It was learned from the suspect that the man behind the incident was a super-advanced hacker known as "Puppet Hui". During a secret investigation, veteran Bart accidentally met Major Motoko Kusanagi, who had not been seen for two years. However, the reunion was very short-lived. Motoko's mysterious actions and the advice of "Don't get close to the Solid State Society" made even Bart mistakenly believe that Motoko was a "puppet." Togusa, who was appointed captain due to the disappearance of Motoko two years ago, is confused by the mysterious suicide incident. On the other side, another headache event is coming one after another - 16 kidnapped and missing children are discovered, and these children have had part of their parents' memories deleted. When tracing their guardians, they turn out to be lonely and helpless old widowers. The deeper the investigation goes, the more unbelievable the incident becomes. The number of missing children reaches more than 20,000. Government officials intend to hire murderers to commit suicide. "Puppets" like hypnotists invade wirelessly. Togusa's baby daughter is targeted, and even Togusa's life is almost lost... Mysteries are bubbling like boiling water, getting more and more intense. What exactly does Solid State Society refer to? When everyone is at a loss, Suzi finally appears. What kind of change will she bring to the situation?
