The Door of Enchantment

Asami’s carefully ordered world begins to shift when she accidentally overhears her classmates discussing intimate matters. Utterly inexperienced and curious, she turns to her best friend Rika for advice. Rika suggests she start with women's magazines, but Asami impulsively decides to watch her brother’s adult videos instead. This single choice plunges her into a turbulent new reality, where she will navigate love, betrayal, heartache, tenderness, and the fragile possibility of happiness. In a parallel thread, high school gravure idol Minori struggles with the gap between her childish, innocent nature and her mature public image. Her closest friend, Aikawa, enjoys teasing her relentlessly, but he remains oblivious to her rising status as the school’s madonna. As Minori’s popularity grows, her gentle personality leaves her vulnerable to unwanted attention from the wrong people—and Aikawa may soon have to confront his own feelings about her changing world. Meanwhile, Mutsumi adores spending time with her cousin You, who also happens to be her homeroom teacher and next-door neighbor. Their conspicuously close relationship becomes the talk of the class, blurring the lines between family affection and something more. Though You is exasperated by the rumors and wary of Mutsumi’s overly forward behavior, he is about to discover that even a man’s resolve has its limits. (Note: "Junior Sweet" depicts the very events that Asami initially overheard, and Asami and Rika frequently appear as recurring characters throughout the author’s other works.)
