The Floating City Esper Files

A strange upheaval sweeps through the metropolis, and ability users awaken one after another across the city. Among them is Wang Jinci, a young man who manifests a rare contract-type ability: Spirit-Binding Command. With it, he can detain the lingering consciousness of powerful ability users who fell in battle, form a spirit contract with them, and borrow the strength of the dead to fight. Yet such power exacts a heavy toll. Each use drains his mind, while the obsessions of countless departed souls gnaw away at him from within. As rival esper factions watch with covetous eyes and danger lurks beneath the cover of night, Wang Jinci holds his spirit contracts fast—staying true to himself amid the turmoil and carving out a path that is his alone.
