The Salty Koharu Has a Soft Spot for Me

Satou Koharu is the kind of girl whose beauty stops conversations mid-sentence—a face everyone knows and admires from across the schoolyard. Yet any fleeting admiration quickly curdles into caution the moment she opens her mouth. Her words are sharp, her patience nonexistent, and her default expression a frosty glare that has earned her the infamous moniker "Salt-God Sato." Countless classmates have limped away from attempted conversations, nursing bruised egos and vowing never to approach her again. To the rest of the student body, she is untouchable, unreachable, and utterly indifferent to the social world swirling around her. That all changes one ordinary afternoon at the protagonist's part-time job. When a group of persistent pickup artists corners Koharu, he steps in without thinking—a simple act of decency that somehow pierces through her legendary armor. To his utter shock, the girl who reduces everyone else to rubble softens in his presence. Her acerbic tongue falters, her guarded posture loosens, and the infamous Salt-God reveals a side no one else has ever seen: endearingly sweet, gently flustered, and disarmingly warm. What follows is an intimate high school story of contradictions—a girl who remains a bitter legend to the masses but transforms into something tender and vulnerable the moment she stands beside him. Navigating this secret double life, they share quiet moments that no one else could possibly understand, proving that even the iciest exteriors can hide the most genuine hearts.
