For My Own Good

Twenty years before a monstrous cataclysm is destined to end civilization, Hee-Jae watches helplessly as the world burns around him. Desperate and facing certain death, he finds himself hurled into the past by a mysterious, untested device. He arrives in an era that feels both familiar and distant, landing directly into the lives of the talented but unrefined students under his foster father, Seok-Young. These young trainees, the very people he once only knew through his mentor’s stories, are the key to the future. Burdened by the memories of a ruined timeline, Hee-Jae understands that survival isn't a matter of simply waiting for the attack to happen. To prevent the apocalypse, he must become the protector he never was, taking on the mantle of a teacher to guide his foster father's unprepared disciples. Every lesson, every technique he imparts, is a calculated step to rewrite history. Yet, his mission is intensely personal: he is not just fighting to save the world, but to carve out a future for himself—a quiet, peaceful existence that was stolen from him. In this dangerous race against time, Hee-Jae must forge the next generation into warriors strong enough to avert the impending doom, all while ensuring that he himself can finally survive to see that peaceful life.
