Inheriting Intangible Heritage, I Summon the Great Sage Through Face-Changing

Su Ming transmigrates to a parallel world and becomes a practitioner of the intangible cultural heritage of Sichuan opera face-changing. During a freshman performance at his school, an accident occurs—the Great Sage face he is wearing suddenly fuses completely with his own face. A voice thunders in his mind: "With my staff, I've conquered the three realms—what's one more battle in this world? From this day on, let this land remember my name! Call me the Great Sage Equal to Heaven!" As a strand of magical hair lands in his palm, Su Ming realizes that his face paint has somehow connected to something terrifying and divine. Meanwhile, Zhou Ting, the head of Luojiang City's intangible heritage division for paper-cutting, receives a report that a formless demon (Wuxiang Yao) has appeared at Luojiang University. She rushes to the scene and heads straight to the cultural auditorium, where the largest crowd has gathered. There, she indeed detects traces of the demon. But it proves far too powerful for her to handle. Just as she steels herself for a desperate last stand, the young performer on stage suddenly freezes—and then, she witnesses a sight she will never forget: the formless demon is obliterated in a single strike from the young man's staff.
