It's Not Your Baby!

Callia Taxicate’s life was one of humble beginnings, an unremarkable commoner whose fate took a sharp turn the day she saved Simon Tereloane, the son of a powerful duke. As a token of gratitude, the duke elevated her to the rank of commander of the emperor’s knights, transforming her into a celebrated war hero celebrated across the realm. Yet, despite the accolades and the elevated status, Callia never allowed the glory to go to her head, especially when it came to Simon, the young nobleman she had saved. To her, he remained a steadfast and cherished friend—nothing more. That clarity of heart, however, was shattered in a single, unforeseen moment. After a fateful night of unexpected intimacy, Callia discovered she was carrying Simon’s child. Instead of hope, the revelation brought terror. In the rigid hierarchy of noble society, she knew the Tereloane family would never accept a child born out of wedlock, especially one from a commoner’s womb. Fearful of the scandal, of Simon’s rejection, and of losing the life she had painstakingly built, she made the desperate choice to flee, disappearing into the shadows to raise her baby alone. Now, as days turn into weeks, Callia fights to remain invisible, to keep her growing secret safely hidden from the father who has no idea he is about to become one. But the walls of her fragile sanctuary are thin, and the truth is a dangerous storm waiting on the horizon. With Simon’s noble family close behind and the emperor’s watchful eyes everywhere, she must wonder: how much longer can she outrun a secret that will eventually find its way home?
