Ex and Ash

Ex is a prodigy of the underworld—a thief whose nimble fingers and cunning mind have never failed him. Ash, his unlikely counterpart, carries a past shrouded in secrecy, one that hints at a weight far heavier than any stolen treasure. Their paths take an unexpected turn when they cross Ryu, the legendary Best Sword of the Knights. Inspired—or perhaps compelled—by this encounter, the pair sets their sights on the one institution that could redefine their fates: the Knights' Order. The road to knighthood, however, runs through a proving ground reserved for humanity's finest. Here, beneath the watchful eyes of the realm's most powerful warriors, Ex and Ash must pit their unorthodox skills against the cream of the crop. Their most daunting rivals are the Nobles—elite scions born with every advantage of birth, wealth, and training, who see the two outsiders as nothing more than intruders. Survival alone will not be enough; to earn their place, Ex and Ash must overcome impossible odds and crush the arrogance of those who have never known defeat. Yet victory on the training field may only be the beginning. As they struggle toward their dream, a shadow looms over their journey—a cruel destiny that seems to have been written long before they ever picked up a sword. Will their bond and resolve be enough to break the chains of fate, or are they merely pawns in a game far larger than they can imagine? The testing grounds will decide their future, but the cost of becoming a knight may prove steeper than either is prepared to pay.
