Determined to learn from the absolute best, he sets out to become Yakumo's apprentice, refusing to settle for anything less. Yakumo is notoriously known throughout the rakugo world for never accepting students, yet something compels him to take this former convict under his wing. He gives the young man the nickname "Yotaro," meaning "the fool." Despite possessing no formal training, refinement, or elegance, Yotaro exudes a raw, undeniable charisma.
