Swingin' Dragon & Tiger Boogie

During a World War II air raid over Fukui, young Suwa Oto witnesses her jazz-loving older sister, Ineko, dancing to the music of bassist Odajima Tatsuji. The memory becomes a guiding light, but tragedy follows: Ineko attempts to drown herself, and although she survives, the war leaves her a shadow of the sister who once taught Oto to sing. Odajima vanishes. Determined to bring the two together again, Oto—now a student—straps Ineko’s bass to her back and travels to Tokyo. There, her singing draws the notice of a musical troupe, leading her to perform on a U.S. military base. In that unlikely setting, she discovers that the troupe’s bassist is none other than Odajima himself. Yet he has lost his memories, leaving Oto to confront the distance between the man she has sought and the past she hopes to restore.
