This is the five hundred and sixty-second time Dong-Yi has killed him. Centuries ago, a monstrous being named Shin-Young forced Dong-Yi into immortality, binding them together in a twisted, unending cycle. Ever since that fateful day, Dong-Yi has relentlessly sought revenge, searching for any opportunity to strike down his tormentor. Yet, because killing an immortal is nearly impossible, their violent encounters have devolved into a bizarre routine of mutual destruction and resurrection. They exist together in a strange state of perpetual near-death, locked in a grim eternity where murder is merely a temporary inconvenience. However, everything changes after what should have been just another routine execution. After slaying the ever-irritating Shin-Young, Dong-Yi waits for his enemy to return alive with his usual infuriating smile—but he never does. Driven by an unfamiliar, gnawing anxiety, Dong-Yi ventures out to search for him. When they finally reunite, Shin-Young appears fundamentally altered, having inexplicably lost all memories of Dong-Yi and their centuries of shared history.
