Ayakashi wa Shousetsuka ni Koi wo Suru

Aka is a novelist burdened with an extraordinary ability: since childhood, he has been able to see ayakashi. Constantly surrounded by these supernatural entities, he struggled to connect with other people and ultimately withdrew from human society. Throughout his isolated upbringing, his only true companion was his beloved dog, Shiro, who has since passed away. His solitary existence shifts dramatically when he encounters an ayakashi named Rintaro, whose appearance bears a striking resemblance to his late pet. Unlike the spirits Aka is accustomed to, Rintaro is a mysterious yet remarkably warm being who genuinely loves humanity and actively participates in everyday social life as if he were a normal person. Drawn to Rintaro’s radiant, sun-like personality, Aka gradually finds his guarded perspective on the world beginning to change. However, this quiet transformation takes an unexpected turn when Rintaro suddenly confesses his romantic love for the reclusive writer. Caught off guard by this startling declaration, Aka must navigate his evolving emotions and confront a bond that challenges everything he thought he knew about both humans and ayakashi.
