To pursue this unconventional path and escape the weight of his family's expectations, Taichi leaves his privileged life behind and moves into a dilapidated, aging apartment building to live entirely on his own. His quiet new life takes an unexpected turn when the girl living next door, Midori, approaches him for help. The encounter immediately strikes a chord within him, as her name—and perhaps her presence—strongly reminds him of his former girlfriend, who was also named Midori. Despite the painful memories attached to his past relationship, Taichi finds himself inexplicably drawn to his new neighbor.
