Wagahai wa "Otokonoko" de Aru!

In the realm of two-dimensional media, the term "otokonoko" describes a cross-dressing boy whose feminine charm transcends reality, representing an idealized aesthetic that seems impossible to replicate in the three-dimensional world. Yet, Nanami Igarashi, a man in his late twenties who retains a passionate devotion to Shonen Jump, dedicates himself to bridging this dimensional divide with reckless determination. As the son of Yumiko Igarashi, the legendary creator of Candy Candy, he has inherited both his mother’s artistic lineage and a profound otaku sensibility, driving his unique personal quest to embody this elusive archetype despite the apparent impossibility of his goal. Nanami’s journey takes a complicated turn as he navigates his secret passion within the confines of his domestic life. He previously engaged in clandestine cross-dressing sessions by borrowing clothes and makeup from his live-in girlfriend, a cosplayer herself, whenever she was away from home. This carefully maintained facade eventually crumbles when she unexpectedly discovers his hidden hobby, transforming his solitary pursuit into a complex interpersonal dynamic. The narrative explores the tension between his authentic self-expression and the vulnerability of exposure, chronicling the daily struggles and emotional stakes of a man striving to manifest a two-dimensional fantasy within the constraints of adult reality and romantic partnership.
