Descendants of Darkness

The work of death is an unending endeavor. Asato Tsuzuki serves as a Shinigami, a Guardian of Death operating within the Ministry of Hades. His primary responsibility is to ensure that the souls of the departed safely transition into the afterlife. It is a vital role within the supernatural bureaucracy, yet fulfilling his duties is rarely a straightforward task. The path between the mortal realm and the hereafter is fraught with complications, demanding constant vigilance from those tasked with guiding the dead. Tsuzuki’s assignments are frequently derailed by defiant spirits and the lingering darkness of human malice, both of which continually obstruct his efforts to complete his missions smoothly. Rather than enjoying the quiet dignity expected of his position, he finds himself battling hostile ghosts and navigating the grim consequences of humanity's evils at every turn. These relentless disruptions not only jeopardize his work but also threaten his standing within the Ministry. Burdened by problematic cases and mounting collateral damage, Tsuzuki faces a bleak professional future. He is left to wonder whether his tireless struggles will ever be rewarded with a simple bonus, or if he is doomed to spend eternity paying off the debts incurred by his disastrous assignments.
