Ten: Tenhou-doori no Kaidanji

Takashi Ten earns his living as a professional mahjong proxy player, navigating the high-stakes underground gambling world with a unique combination of innate genius and genuine kindness. While he possesses extraordinary talent at the table, his true strength lies in an intuitive approach that transcends conventional strategy. This distinctive style captivates Hiroyuki Igawa, a logical student player who initially struggles to comprehend Ten’s unorthodox methods but ultimately forms a deep friendship with him after witnessing his remarkable abilities firsthand. As a representative player, Ten frequently faces dangerous opponents from organized crime syndicates, where the stakes extend far beyond monetary gain. During one critical match against yakuza members, victory appears within his grasp until his adversaries deploy their ultimate secret weapon: a legendary proxy player whose reputation precedes them. This unexpected escalation transforms what seemed like a manageable contest into a formidable challenge, forcing Ten to confront a mythical figure from the mahjong underworld and test the full extent of his unconventional talents against an opponent who embodies the game's highest level of mastery.
