Set within the sprawling campus of Private Takafuji Academy, an institution boasting over six thousand students, Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate follows Yuuki Oojima. Alongside seven other members, including his childhood friend Chisato Sumiyoshi, Yuuki belongs to the Food Research Club—a laid-back group that spends its days enjoying leisurely downtime rather than engaging in serious extracurricular activities. Their peaceful routine is abruptly threatened when the upcoming student council presidential election introduces a formidable frontrunner, Satsuki Shinonome. Driven by a vision of efficiency, she proposes systematically evaluating and abolishing any school clubs deemed to lack genuine merit or purpose. Faced with the imminent dissolution of their beloved club, the Food Research members seek guidance from the current student council president, Yakumo Mori. Rather than offering a simple administrative solution, Yakumo suggests a bold countermeasure: Yuuki should step forward as an opposing candidate in the election. Initially hesitant, Yuuki begins to investigate the broader challenges affecting the academy's student body. As he uncovers these underlying issues, his motivation evolves beyond merely protecting his friends' hangout spot. Embracing this unexpected responsibility, Yuuki officially enters the race, transforming from an unassuming club member into a determined contender fighting for the future of his school.
