Mr. Arashi's Amazing Freak Show

Midori, a young orphaned girl, finds her life irrevocably altered when she is taken in by a traveling freak show. Far from offering her a genuine home or sanctuary, the troupe effectively enslaves her, binding her to a bleak existence on the road. The performers under the big top are a collection of marginalized and unusual individuals, including a man wrapped like a mummy, a snake woman, and a limbless man who constantly drools. Rather than being exhibited as one of the attractions, Midori is forced into the grueling role of caretaker, tending to the daily needs of these outcasts because she is considered physically normal. The entire operation is ruled with an iron fist by its owner, the eponymous Mr. Arashi. He is a harsh, uncompromising figure who ensures that his performers experience virtually no freedom or happiness in their lives. Under his oppressive management, the atmosphere within the troupe remains suffocating and grim. While all the performers suffer beneath his strict control, Mr. Arashi reserves a particularly vicious brand of cruelty for Midori. As the story’s heroine, she must endure relentless mistreatment while navigating the dark, exploitative world of the freak show, struggling to survive the unyielding tyranny of the man who owns her.
