Shoujo wa Shoka no Umi de Nemuru

Phil, an aspiring bookseller currently in training, harbors a deep passion for literature and is dispatched by his mentor to a nearby monastery rumored to be facing severe financial hardship. His mission is to negotiate the purchase of volumes from their library, an opportunity he eagerly anticipates given the collection’s storied reputation. However, upon arrival, he is initially barred entry by a young child who steadfastly refuses him access, setting an unexpectedly hostile tone for what should have been a straightforward business transaction. Once Phil finally gains admittance, he discovers that the monastic community has been devastated by recent tragedy, and the child who denied him entry is revealed to be a beautiful girl of noble birth rather than a boy as he had assumed. The situation proves far more intricate than a simple acquisition of books, entangling him in circumstances beyond his experience or preparation.
