Twittering Birds Never Fly

Yashiro serves as the young leader of the Shinseikai yakuza organization and president of its corporate front, yet he conceals a complex private existence defined by masochism and self-destructive tendencies. Despite his firm personal rule against becoming intimate with subordinates, the arrival of his new bodyguard, Chikara Doumeki, challenges this resolve in unexpected ways. Yashiro finds himself inexplicably drawn to Doumeki, prompting him to make advances that are met with enigmatic refusal, creating a tension that transcends typical employer-employee dynamics and complicates Yashiro’s carefully maintained emotional boundaries. The relationship evolves into a turbulent affair between two emotionally guarded men, each carrying unspoken burdens and internal conflicts that prevent true connection. Yashiro wields his authority not merely for dominance but as a mechanism for self-punishment, while Doumeki maintains unwavering obedience despite his mysterious reasons for resisting intimacy. Together, they navigate a painful bond characterized by profound longing and mutual restraint, embodying the tragic essence of individuals who possess deep feelings yet remain fundamentally unable to achieve freedom or fulfillment within their constrained circumstances.
