Summary

Official Details
The Enigma of Amigara Fault is a short horror manga by Junji Ito, originally released as a bonus one-shot alongside his apocalyptic work Gyo. The story follows a young man named Oowaki and a woman named Yoshida, who cross paths on the slopes of Amigara Mountain following a deeply unsettling geological discovery. Carved into the rock face are countless human-shaped holes, scattered inexplicably across the mountainside. As investigators and onlookers gather to study the anomaly, a terrifying truth begins to emerge: the silhouettes are not random formations. Each hole perfectly matches the exact dimensions of a specific living person, and those individuals soon find themselves drawn to the mountain by an irresistible, almost supernatural compulsion. The openings seem to actively call out to the people they were shaped for, creating an overwhelming psychological pull that defies rational explanation. Driven by this eerie summons, individuals begin to step backward into the narrow cavities that fit them flawlessly, disappearing into the solid rock. What awaits those who surrender to the mountain's call remains shrouded in dread, but their descent into the dark, suffocating depths promises an experience defined by profound claustrophobia and pure nightmare fuel.
