Shuuhei Wakatsuki is a man who has built his life and career in Tokyo, far removed from the rural roots of his upbringing. On New Year's Eve, he makes the decision to bring his girlfriend and her young son back to his childhood home to visit his parents. As they make the long drive through the winter landscape, Shuuhei finds himself consumed by memories of his father. Their relationship has long been defined by friction and distance, ultimately leading to a painful estrangement that neither man has attempted to mend. Upon arriving at the family house, the atmosphere is heavy with unspoken tension. However, as the holiday unfolds, Shuuhei and his father find themselves sitting together in silence, watching a traditional New Year's television broadcast. In the quiet glow of the screen, the rigid walls between them begin to soften. What starts as a shared, wordless moment gradually opens the door for a tentative conversation, offering both men a fragile opportunity to confront their past and bridge the divide that has kept them apart for so long.
