Let's Go Karaoke!

For middle school student Satomi Oka, nothing is more daunting than his final choir competition. His focus on rehearsals is abruptly shattered when he is approached by a mysterious figure lurking in the shadows with an unexpected demand: “Let’s go karaoke!” The stranger is Kyouji Narita, a yakuza member who rarely flinches at danger, yet finds himself facing a situation so terrifying that he has no choice but to seek help from a teenage boy. The source of Narita’s panic is an impending karaoke contest organized by his crime boss. The stakes are unusually cruel—the loser will be forced to receive a tattoo, one personally chosen and agonizingly applied by the boss himself. Desperate to avoid this painful fate, the hardened gangster turns to the young choir singer for vocal guidance. Though Satomi has spent years refining his voice through countless choral practices, nothing could have prepared him for private singing lessons with a criminal. Thrust into a bizarre partnership, the anxious student must use his musical expertise to teach a yakuza how to sing, navigating a world far removed from his quiet school life.
