Sayonara Sorcier

Set against the backdrop of late nineteenth-century Paris, Sayonara Sorcier follows Theodorus van Gogh, a highly respected art dealer and branch manager at the prestigious firm Goupil & Cie. Dedicated to discovering fresh talent and innovative techniques among emerging painters, Theodorus finds himself navigating an era deeply hostile to artistic evolution. In France, the fine arts are fiercely guarded by a privileged, conservative elite who insist that true art belongs exclusively to the upper echelons of society, dismissing the common people as fundamentally incapable of appreciating it. Determined to challenge this rigid hierarchy, Theodorus fights to bring works that resonate with the hard-working masses into the public eye, hoping to usher in a transformative new era for the art world. Yet his ambitions extend far beyond professional rebellion. At the very heart of his struggle lies a deeply personal, lifelong devotion: he yearns to see the world finally recognize the extraordinary, god-given gift of his brother, Vincent. Caught between entrenched aristocratic gatekeepers and his own unwavering conviction, Theodorus must risk everything to prove that great art transcends social boundaries.
