Kakutoshi no Yume

In his second short story collection, Mohiro Kitoh explores the tragic destinies of individuals residing in a city that exists at the intersection of futuristic technology and dark fantasy. As the metropolis undergoes an inexorable structural decline, its physical deterioration serves as a haunting reflection of the emotional decay festering within the hearts of its inhabitants. The narratives delve into how these citizens navigate their bleak reality, bound together by a shared sense of inevitable ruin. The definitive edition of the work, released in 2024, expanded upon the original anthology by introducing a brand-new episode titled "The Lees of Elementary Particles." This updated compilation offered readers a fresh perspective on Kitoh’s distinctive world-building and thematic depth. That same year, from June 12 to June 30, the original artwork for the manga was showcased to the public during a dedicated exhibition held in Shibuya, Tokyo, allowing fans to experience the intricate illustrations firsthand.
