Hiroaki Dewa is a devoted enthusiast of first-person shooters who spends nearly all his time immersed in virtual reality. When he finally removes his headset and ventures outdoors for the first time in what feels like an eternity, he discovers a nightmare scenario: civilization has completely collapsed, leaving behind nothing but ruins. Shortly after this shocking revelation, he crosses paths with Otoha Judou, a self-proclaimed horror fanatic. Despite their contrasting obsessions, the two form an unlikely alliance to navigate the dangers of a world overrun by the undead. Their struggle for survival takes a mysterious turn one fateful night when a virtual reality artificial intelligence known as Raven contacts them. The entity delivers a single, cryptic directive: “Survive, and humanity may flourish once again.” Armed with this enigmatic promise, Hiroaki and Otoha must push forward through the devastation. Together, these mismatched companions cling to a fragile thread of hope, determined to endure the apocalypse in a world that seems to have lost everything.
