Outbreak Company

Born to a light novel author father and an eroge illustrator mother, Shinichi Kano is a purebred otaku whose only extraordinary traits are his encyclopedic knowledge, sharp intuition, and flawless instinct for everything related to "moe" culture. When he is suddenly transported to a fantasy realm populated by elves and soaring dragons, he is not tasked with slaying monsters or embarking on epic quests. Instead, he is assigned a far more unusual mission: to serve as a "moe missionary" and foster cultural exchange between worlds. Upon his arrival, Shinichi encounters a colorful cast of characters, including a palace guard with fujoshi tendencies, a half-elf maid, and a child empress. To fulfill his objective, he devises a plan to establish a school dedicated to spreading otaku culture. What begins as a lighthearted comedic endeavor gradually gives way to much heavier challenges. Shinichi is forced to confront deep-rooted ethnic discrimination, complex social issues, mounting tensions with neighboring nations, and deliberate sabotage orchestrated by opposition factions—including elements within the Japanese government itself. As these obstacles threaten to derail his efforts, he must find a way to successfully introduce "moe" culture to this new world while genuinely improving the lives of its people.
