Hitsugi no Chaika

For two centuries, the world was consumed by relentless warfare. When the conflict finally ended, it ushered in five years of unprecedented peace. For Toru Acura, a former saboteur whose entire existence was defined by combat, this sudden tranquility is nothing short of a curse. Stripped of his profession and left adrift without any sense of purpose, he wanders through days that feel hollow and meaningless, unable to find a place for himself in a society that no longer requires his lethal skills. His stagnant life takes an abrupt turn when he intervenes to save a mysterious young wizard. This silver-haired girl, Chaika Trabant, carries an enormous coffin on her back and possesses an enigmatic presence that immediately disrupts Toru’s quiet despair. Recognizing his capabilities, she offers him and his sister, Akari, a proposition: join her on a perilous quest fraught with mortal danger. By accepting her commission, Toru steps away from the suffocating emptiness of peacetime, thrusting himself into a death-defying journey that finally gives his life the meaning he has been desperately seeking.
