A Certain Dark Item

Academy City is a metropolis where extrasensory perception has been formally recognized as an established science. Yet, beneath its seemingly peaceful surface lies a hidden underworld tasked with executing covert operations that can never be made public. Operating freely within this shadowy realm is ITEM, an elite unit composed of four highly skilled girls who quietly set their sights on assigned targets. The team’s roster includes Takitsubo Rikou, who possesses the ability to read and track the AIM fields emitted by other espers; Frenda Seivelun, a combat specialist who excels in deploying explosives and traps; Kinuhata Saiai, who manipulates nitrogen at will to serve as the group's primary defensive anchor; and Mugino Shizuri, one of the seven most powerful espers in all of Academy City. Together, they navigate the darkness with lethal precision. This narrative explores their encounters, the bonds of friendship forged in secrecy, and the dangerous missions they undertake. However, their lives in the shadows are not destined to remain stable forever, as their journey inevitably builds toward a catastrophic incident that threatens to shatter everything they have built.
