Rusuban

Set against the backdrop of August 1987, Rusuban chronicles a single, defining day in the life of a young woman named Tokko. With her family temporarily away, she is entrusted with the responsibility of remaining behind to look after their residence. The setting is a sprawling, large house that stands as a quiet monument to their absence, transforming an ordinary domestic duty into an isolated experience far removed from the bustling summer outside its walls. As the hours unfold within this expansive home, the narrative intimately follows Tokko through the subtle rhythms and unexpected weight of her solitude. What begins as a simple task of staying behind gradually reveals the profound atmosphere of being left alone in a space built for many. The vast rooms and empty hallways amplify her presence, turning the act of keeping watch over the property into a deeply personal journey. Through her eyes, the audience experiences the unique tension and quiet introspection that accompany a day spent entirely on one's own, anchored only by the silent companionship of the house itself.
