Oedo Fire Slayer -The Legend of Phoenix

Matsunaga Gengo was once celebrated throughout Edo as the "Fire-Eating Bird," a legendary samurai firefighter renowned for halting devastating blazes. Though he had stepped away from his duties for personal reasons, an unexpected summons from the Shinjo clan draws him back into service. He discovers that their firefighting division is severely underfunded, critically understaffed, and widely mocked by rival brigades. Encouraged by his devoted wife, Miyuki, Gengo accepts the daunting role of chairman, determined to resurrect the fallen unit from ruin. Together with a band of eccentric companions, Gengo fights tirelessly to uphold a single guiding principle: saving every life. Despite being derisively labeled the "Boro-Tobi-Gumi"—a ragged crew of steeplejacks—the team refuses to abandon its mission. Their resolve is tested further when a string of mysterious, suspicious fires known as "foxfires" begins sweeping through the city. As disaster looms ever closer, these unlikely heroes must race against time and flames in this thrilling action drama set against the vibrant backdrop of Edo.
