Hayama is a newly hired employee who has just been assigned to the editorial department of a weekly scandal magazine. This controversial photo publication specializes in exposing extreme stories, covering everything from celebrity infidelity to hidden criminal underworlds. Widely derided by critics and the public as nothing more than trash, the magazine thrives on unearthing the darkest secrets people desperately try to keep buried. Thrust into this morally ambiguous world, Hayama quickly realizes that his new job will demand far more than he ever anticipated. Immediately upon joining the team, Hayama is paired with a female photographer and dispatched to Roppongi without any explanation of their actual assignment. What he discovers there completely shatters his expectations of standard journalistic work. Waiting for them is an eccentric, secret-obsessed individual whose fixation on the magazine's exposés goes far beyond professional interest. Instead of merely chasing headlines, this bizarre informant derives intense personal gratification from the chaos and fallout generated by their scoops. As Hayama navigates the neon-lit underbelly of Tokyo, he must confront the unsettling reality of his new career and the disturbing extremes required to feed the publication's insatiable appetite for scandal.
