Ganbare! Chrome

Ganbare! Chrome is a series of short promotional videos produced by Google Japan to highlight the capabilities and appeal of the Chrome web browser. Designed as an engaging marketing campaign, the project brings the platform’s iconic mascot to life, transforming it from a simple logo into an animated guide capable of interacting directly with viewers. Through these brief episodes, the familiar character takes center stage to introduce audiences to the software's practical tools and functionalities in an approachable, entertaining format. The visual direction and creative foundation of the series are rooted in a unique community initiative. Earlier in the year, organizers hosted a competition inviting participants to submit original artwork inspired by the browser. The winning entries were selected to serve as the aesthetic blueprint for the project, ensuring that the final animations reflected the creativity of the users themselves. Guided by this distinctive artistic vision, the Chrome mascot navigates through various scenarios, carefully explaining the different features available within the browser. By blending user-generated art with professional promotional content, the series offers a vibrant showcase of what the software can do, all presented through the charming perspective of its celebrated mascot.
